How does the free trial work?
Every new organization starts a 14-day free trial. You choose a plan and add a card up front, but you are not charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial from Settings → Billing and you will not be billed.
What does it cost?
Starter is $29/month (up to 150 members), Growth is $59/month (up to 500 members, plus Smart Insights), and Unlimited is $99/month (unlimited members, QR check-in kiosk). Prices are in USD and you can change plans anytime.
How do I cancel?
Open Settings → Billing and choose Manage Subscription. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the current period.
How does online giving work?
You connect your own Stripe account, and donations go directly to you — Shepherd Atlas never holds your money and takes no cut of donations. You can also record offline gifts manually and generate year-end tax statements.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. From Settings → Data & Privacy you can export a full copy of your organization's data at any time, and you can permanently delete your organization. We honor GDPR data-portability and deletion rights.
Which faith traditions are supported?
Shepherd Atlas adapts its terminology for Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, and other communities. You pick your tradition during setup, and you can fine-tune the wording later in Settings.
Do you offer Smart Insights / AI?
Yes — our Smart Insights (engagement scoring, daily digest, giving insights, message drafts, and more) run as deterministic algorithms on your own data. There is no third-party AI dependency, no extra cost, and your data is not sent to an external model.
Do you send text messages (SMS)?
At launch, communications and reminders are sent by email. SMS is not currently offered.

Is Shepherd Atlas GDPR-compliant (DSGVO)?
GDPR rights are built into the product: administrators can export the organization's complete data as a ZIP at any time (Settings → Data & Privacy) and delete the account entirely, with a scheduled purge. We collect only what's needed to run your congregation's workspace, and we never sell or share member data.
Do you offer a data processing agreement (AVV)?
Yes — for organizations in the EU we provide a data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag) on request. Email support@shepherdatlas.com and we'll send you our current AVV for signature.
Where is my data hosted?
Shepherd Atlas's application and database run in Frankfurt, Germany (EU) — on Vercel and a managed Postgres database respectively. Stripe handles payments and Resend handles email; all four providers are bound by GDPR data-processing agreements. Your congregation's data is never sold or shared, and you can export it in full at any time.
Why is there no cookie banner?
Because we do not set any cookie that would require your consent. Shepherd Atlas uses only strictly necessary cookies — your login session and which organization you are viewing. There are no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics cookies, so under GDPR and § 25 TDDDG there is nothing to ask permission for. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
